A little while back we put up a post taking a look back over the last six months at GB, some of the awards we had won, events we had hosted, and progress the brewery had made. To go along with that, we wanted to put together a little look forward over the six months to come, to let you guys know about what’s in the works for us, and to get you as excited as we are about the second half of our eighth year.

The first thing to mention, of course, is the rest of the Warehouse Series beers, with five more to make their debuts before the year and the series comes to an end. We’ve got some really fun stuff planned; Albert, the brewery’s first ever Kolsch, is being brewed as this article is being typed; October sees us crafting a Black IPA, a style with which we haven’t dabbled since the far-gone days of Black Simcoe; and December rounds us off with a Christmas Ale, following on from last year’s delicately spiced and deeply warming Festive Cheer. Expect the beers to take on a slightly darker turn as the weather does; we’ve had a spring and summer of awesome pales, and the winter demands something to counterbalance that.

Along with this, our first attempt at brewing lager has been such a success that we’re now looking at pushing it to trade customers, hoping it’s as popular around the country as it is with our customers. Keep an eye out, as you may well soon be able to find GB lager in pubs other than TANK. But, of course, why would you want to drink it anywhere else?

Events wise, we’ve got the big one just around the corner. Oktoberfest is the biggest beer event of the year, and while we might be more than a stone’s throw away from Munich’s Theresienwiese, we wouldn’t dream of missing out on the action. Once again we’ll be hosting our always-popular Oktoberfest event, boasting oodles of German beer in styles ranging from Hefeweizen to Bock. Among the beers on show will be the official Festbiers from Paulaner and Hacker-Pachorr, offering the most authentic Oktoberfest experience to be found for miles around. Throw on some lederhosen, close your eyes, and it’s just like being in Munich. To line our guests’ stomachs, we’ll have hot German-style street food throughout the weekend. All this eating and drinking will be taking place to a background of live music, with at least one act per session of the event. It promises to be a really hearty, lively weekend, and a great celebration of a country whose beer is revered the world over – we hope to see you there.

On the other side of the canal, we’re already thinking about our New Year’s Eve event. A sell-out for multiple years in a row now, our night of drink, good food, and even better music will have tickets on sale in the not-too-distant future. They always go quickly, so get in there early!

Of course, there’s no way of knowing exactly what the future holds, and there’s no doubt that some unforeseen and exciting things happen between now and the end of December – but that’s all part of the fun. We all can’t wait to see what happens, and we’re looking forward to taking that journey with you all.
